Sustainability in operations, production, design, and engineering has gained wide acceptance and importance worldwide over the past few years. Industrial engineers are considered to be in a unique position to play a key role in integrating sustainability concepts into their work and the industrial engineering skill sets are essential to support sustainable engineering practices in the design and development of manufacturing and service systems. Even though industrial engineering is being endorsed forward to sustainability; so far, the systematic and complete knowledge needed to orient required practices has not been developed. This conference will shed light on the role of industrial engineering in this endeavor.

The GJCIE 2023 is composed of three co-located conferences: the 8th Global Conference on Industrial Engineering (GCIE), the 9th Global Conference on Healthcare Systems Engineering and Management (GCHSEM), and the 10th Global Conference on Engineering and Technology Management (GCETM). The GJCIE 2023 will be an internationally renowned forum for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, experiences, and challenges in the field of industrial engineering. It will bring together experts from academia and industry to exchange the latest research results and trends and their practical applications in the areas of industrial engineering mentioned earlier. This will be accomplished through the following four modes of communication: keynote presentations, parallel sessions, student paper competitions, and poster sessions.

The GJCIE 2023 is designed as an in-person conference in New York, NY, USA. The SUNY College of Optometry in Manhattan will be the conference venue. New York is possibly the most famous city in the world, and Manhattan is its core. It is where New York originated to become the megalopolis that now stretches to several cities, counties, and states. Manhattan is an island bounded by the Harlem, Hudson, and East rivers. With almost 1.7 million people and only 33.58 sq. miles, Manhattan is the most densely populated and the smallest county in New York. Manhattan is also the economic, administrative, and cultural identifier of New York City and New York state. New York City is the most populous city in America, with almost 9 million inhabitants. However, its metro area is much larger, with nearly 20 million people, and from 14 to 16, August will also be home to the GJCIE 2023.

A truly global conference!
